Q2) what does /cxldata/big.txt mean. ?

Does it mean that big.txt is inside cxldata( directory) and then what is Wc/ ?

“wc” is a linux command which will do the word count and its output will be lines, words and character you have 1 -lines, 4 words and 15 characters in your file.
Second answer is yes you are /cxldata/big.txt means big.txt is inside cxldata directory.
