I need to compare performance of single node and multinode hadoop program. Is it possible to use only single node and run program and run same program on multi node and compare results?

For single node cluster, I think you can install Hortonworks VM on your local machine and compare the performance with CloudxLab.
But I do not think this comparison will be a good idea. Generally, we compare two objects having near same features. May I know your use case for this comparison so that I can assist you better.

Thanks for the reply. I need to compare performance of a program with single node and multinode for my assignment. I was trying to install master and slave both on desktop but got some issues. So just want to know if i have some control over the no of cluster that i can use to do comparision. Anyway i am good. Thanks
