Clarification on support vector machine code

[This is copied from an internal discussion]

Hi Sandeep and Team,

While doing hands on on support_vector_machines at Hard Margin vs Soft Margin part of code I have got one doubt.

There you fitted on Xo2, yo2 and plotted the same for subplot(121) but whereas you sub plotted (122) with Xo1,yo1 and at left support vector does not have data point at gutter_down, but it can take large street but it doesn’t?

May I know what exactly it is doing even though there is no outlier, where it can have large street.

Thanks, & Regards,

Vinod Kumar Jodu

I have tried to answer you question in this video:

When I tried to plot Xo2 on subplot(122), it is behaving as shown in figure…?
Unable predict what exactly it is doing?

please help me to understand what is happening exactly?

And also

  1. How boundary condition is derived from scratch with respect to degree of the equation
  2. How you decided the function t while finding support vectors
  3. How un-scaling is happening as you mentioned in the code…!!

Thank you in advance…

Hi Team,

When I copy pasted the code in the notebook and executed the same, the plot is having background color but when I typed and run the same code, the background color is not reflecting? Even though I cross checked the code I have written and the code in the notebook are the same…but why the difference?

Thanks,
Vinod Kumar
